Sketchbook 2 - Day 6

I got my page for Day 6 finished this weekend.  Absolutely love it!  And, we had a live chat with the class as well.  Let me just tell you, I got to chat with Kelly Purkey.  And I was able to ask her questions.  I was seriously star struck through the computer!  She's one of my biggest scrapbooking inspirations and to be able to talk to her was thrilling!  By the way, she's extremely sweet and answered everyone's questions!
In other news, I'm getting a little frustrated.  I went out on a limb and tried to get a custom scrapbooking business going.  I had quite a few people suggest that I do it, and quite a few people say that they would buy some from me.  But since I started it in June, nothing.  I'm trying to be patient and let things happen, but it's getting a little discouraging.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not giving up, just hoping that things will start flowing soon.  Ok, I'm done.  Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.  In spite of all the frustration, I am getting a lot of my personal pages done that I want to with this class.  So there's that at least.  Ok, seriously done!

  1. I'm in awe that you are keeping up. I got the first layout done then came to a screeching halt. Your layouts are great! I'm inspired to get going again.
I think Summer is a hard time to get a scrapbook biz going - if you are selling product, people are still out doing stuff - they get more crafty in the Fall - hang in there :)

  2. Thank you for the encouragement! I'm trying to be patient, which is hard for me!
I'm keeping up pretty well huh? I only have a two-year-old and I'm not working, so I usually get a couple of hours to scrap while she naps. I take advantage of them! Thank you for your kind words!

  3. Cute layout. I am getting behind on the sketches. I know how it can be difficult to start a scrap biz, from personal experience. Not sure what you have done to get the word out, but for customized scrapbooks you can try to market with a local school PTA, kids dance studios, wedding photographers, real estate agents (they might give as a gift for a client buying a home for them).

    good luck!

  4. I agree with Valerie--people are lazy in the summer, and don't get going with stuff like this yet. Wait until their kids are back in school, and then I'm sure you'll be busy!

Love this page--I had so much fun lifting it!

  5. I'm so glad you lifted it! I love your page. You colors were great! I've actually been inspired by you so I was excited that you lifted my page. Thanks for the encouragement! I'm keeping busy right now so I don't dwell on it too much.
